Sensory Integration 3 - Administration and Interpretation of the Sensory Integration & Praxis Test
This Module is held once a year and consists of two lecture blocks. Usually the first block is in September when the administration of the course is the focus of the 5 days, and the second 4 day block is in March when the interpretation of the test is the focus. However this is confirmed to all participants prior to commencing the course.

Please note that this course has been rescheduled and will not now take place in September 2010. Watch the website for the new date!

This course is accredited by Cardiff University with 20 M level credits on completion of one assignment of 3,500 words. Students will also be examined on their ability to administer the SIPT.

It is anticipated that there will be 200 hours of study, of which 60 will be contact hours and 140 will be self-directed study.

Cost of course: £1,000 [2009]
Participants must have a professional qualification in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy.

Students must have completed (or at least have attended the taught component of) the Sensory Integration Module 1 - Theory and Intervention , or its equivalent, and the Sensory Integration 2 - Advanced Clinical Reasoning and Analysis, or equivalent, prior to registering for Sensory Integration 3 - Administration and Interpretation of the Sensory Integration and Praxis Test, to ensure a solid theoretical grounding has been attained

On completion of the module the participant will be able to:

1. Critically analyse the use of a standardised norm referenced measurement tool assessing sensory processing in child development.

2. Reliably administration and accurately score the Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT)

3. Demonstrate the ability to interpret the SIPT, through advanced clinical skills and reasoning.

4. Critically utilise SIPT as a tool to develop effective treatment plans for children with sensory processing difficulties.
