Block one:During the first block, learning needs will be established at the outset by setting a learning contract and objectives and discussing the use of mentoring. Teaching will be in the form of lectures, watching and critiquing videos from a master clinician, as well as from their own treatment sessions, and interactive group discussion. Lectures will cover principles of treatment, clinical reasoning, outcome measures and current evidence base. Students will need to bring their own treatment videos to facilitate discussion. Between blocks the students will be expected to assess a client from their caseload, plan and deliver an intervention that is evidence based and has a measurable outcome. Some of the sessions will need to be videoed. Block two:Over the second two-day block the main focus will be on presentation of case studies and critical analysis, including video footage of treatment sessions, building further on previous learning. The whole student cohort will be present; building further on previous learning. The presentation will be part of the summative assessment. Following the second block the students will complete assignment two through self-directed learning. |
