Three new team members have recently joined the publications team working across EmphaSize and SensorNet, so we thought it was only fair to introduce them and share a little bit more about them.
Sharon Woolf, has been appointed as the Deputy Editor for SensorNet to work alongside editor, Gina Daly. Sharon has had extensive experience working with allied health professionals in her varied career as a trainer. She started her own business 4 years ago which so far has included teaching academic skills, co-production work and supporting students with multiple impairments to achieve their academic goals.
As Sharon is about to reach the half-century milestone, she’s planning to celebrate by running a half marathon!
Kate Bradley and Nikki White are the new co-editors for EmphaSize, as current editor, Cathy Warne steps down in September. We’d like to thank Cathy for her hard work and commitment in the past 14 months.
Kate is currently a Gold Member of the SI Network and she is incredibly passionate about Ayres SI. She’s a dual qualified teacher and occupational therapist. Having just completed her dissertation for her MA in Special and Inclusive Education, she’s just about to start working as an Inclusion Leader in a mainstream school. With love for unusual board-games in her spare time, her latest favourite is Concordia!
OT, Nikki White, has been a member of the Network since 2007 when she completed SI1 and 2, as it was back then. A unique fact about Nikki is that she once auditioned for the BBC programme, Total Wipeout and was successful but the programme was filmed in Argentina and she would have flown back to the UK the day before her wedding. Her then fiancé (now husband), told her not to do it because knowing her level of skill she would come back with a broken leg, so she turned it down!
We hope you’ll join us in welcoming all three to the team and look forward to reading their input to EmphaSize and SensorNet.
