SI Module 1: Foundations and Neuroscience

This Ulster University-validated postgraduate module is designed to equip participants with the knowledge required to apply current sensory integration theories to their everyday practice. It is available as an online course or classroom based course.


    Occupational Therapists, Speech & Language Therapists and Physiotherapists. Psychologists registered with HCPC or medical doctors who have GMC registration (or the equivalent) can apply for SI Module 1 only.


    Online Course: This course will run for a 16 week period. Apart from the final completion date of the assessments, this online module allows participants to be flexible in where, when and how they learn.

    As you would expect from a postgraduate-level module, there is a requirement for students to study with a minimum of 50 hours of direct online learning, as well as engagement in additional independent study.

    Classroom Course: 5 days. The course will run from 9am to 5pm each day. Registration on Monday will commence at 8.45am. The course will finish at 3.30pm on the Friday. 

    Registration for this course will close 4 weeks prior to the start of the course.

     Lecturers: The content has been developed by a team of expert SI practitioners across the range of clinical areas, service users, and lecturers. The team has included experts who understand first hand the challenges of engaging with this fascinating area of study. To that end the resulting online materials and methods of learning are rich and varied. To further help you be successful on this module, and to also enjoy the process, you will be given your own E-Mentor who will facilitate your journey through the units of the module. You will also be part of an online bespoke community of fellow students, sharing the learning journey together.
