SI Modular Pathway Entry Conditions
Entry requirements1. Applicants will have gained an Honours or non-Honours degree from a University. Occupational therapists, physiotherapists and speech and language therapists who have a diploma may now be eligible to enter the programme on condition that the applicant provides evidence of recent, relevant continuing professional development to the Course Director, Dr Greg Kelly. The Course Director’s decision will be final.
2. In order to take SI Module 2 onward, all applicants must be a qualified Occupational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist or Physiotherapist. Applicants from other backgrounds are eligible to take SI Module 1 only.
3. If applicants have already started on the SI Modular Pathway, they must have successfully passed the previous module with Ulster University (from 2011) in order to start the next module. In addition, each stage of the programme – Postgraduate Certificate or Diploma – must also be completed within 5 years if returning after exiting at each stage and the Masters must be completed within one year. If an applicant wishes to progress through the whole programme without exiting at any stage to return to complete later, they must complete the whole programme in 5 years.
4. All applicants must have competence in written and spoken English
(GCSE grade C or Academic IELTS 7.0 with no band score less than 6.5)
Our accredited SI Modular Pathway courses are designed for qualified occupational therapists, physiotherapists and speech & language therapists to develop the skills required to practice Sensory Integration Therapy in the context of their particular professional background. This is advanced training which builds upon their existing knowledge, so it is not a beginner's course.
